Steady on there GG it's a nice hobby for two 73 year olds and much safer than mountaineering or swimming with sharks. Joan does if I'm driving anyway.

Counting them off the wall at Manny's is considered cheating as well - although a respected Dibber did own up to doing that.

Just taking my anorak off

DC is blue text on a white plate but will often say Washington DC - a bit confusing with Washington state.

By the way you need 51 since the District Of Columbia also issues plates. Very rare but we spotted it last April for maybe only the second time.

Very sad I know but I also have a master spread sheet recording every visit Never got all 51 in one holiday though.

Can you drive via Idaho and the Dakotas please. They are fairly rare.

I did actually drive a California plate when we picked up in Boston a few years ago. That's about as distant you can get for the 48 contiguous states.
