I know what you mean, I got ours out to sell and make sure our single phil&teds was ok for dd3.
Ds6 stopped using a buggy here at 3, dd hasn’t used one for ages but don’t think you can compare it with here. You can get back carriers but they are bulky and you would get very hot and bothered. I still use my connects carrier for dd at the airport, she is only 17kg and this can take up to 20kg. It’s not just about the walking as here ds is very active and can walk loads. Sometimes it’s just an escape from sun/crowds etc. He wouldn’t dream of going in a pushchair here but will quite happy hop in over there. I found it handy to have the drinks on it plus our snack bag. Also if they were in it I knew where they where, especially in very crowded areas. Yes it’s a bit of pain but I would still rather this than carrying dd let alone ds. After all it’s a holiday for everyone. In your situation I would maybe wait until you get there and if you need one you can hire. They all have good stock and would get it delivered to you that day probably. Having said that there is only the two of us and we do two cases, two car seats, pushchair and hand luggage. Hand luggage goes on top of the main cases (strapped on) so we have two items each. Our car seat bag does have wheels. It would work out about £100 give or take for a city mini gt. Over total holiday it isn’t that much but if it makes a more enjoyable experience for everybody it’s probably worth it. Sorry for the super long reply |
