The land was a flop initially due to an average attraction, but I predicted on here ROTR would be cutting edge and bring in the crowds as did many others (it was fairly obvious) and it was very busy when I went.
I haven’t seen any recent stories that talked about installing a more classic timeline. I have my doubts about this. As this and Avatar showed us, if you do a land well, but more importantly underpin it with a must ride attraction, it will be very busy and a roaring success even if the land is not that ell known to the public. Now, they do a lot of surveys and it may be they’ve done some and had overwhelming feedback people would have preferred the classic Star Wars, May consider changing for that, but the world would not make much sense then to have Darth Vader wandering about.

The two rides are average at best (admittedly based on Tim Tracker reviews!)

The one in the Millenium Falcon is average at best, but the Rise of the Resistance is pretty amazing- even Mrs YT who has zero interest in Star Wars and has never seen a film and doesn't particularly like rides (!) thought it was very impressive. If it can win her over, it can win anyone over.

On the time aspect - you do need to be there as HWS opens, but not at 4am. Just before Xmas, I arrived at 6.55, was in at 7.10 and booked (just) a group (101) but our group (they went to 103 that day as guaranteed groups) got called at 3, and they called many of the standby groups after - I estimate it went up to around 150 if it didn't go down for long periods.
I have heard that post Xmas and NY it actually got a bit busier, but there is no need to get there at 4am whatsoever- to do so would be quite stupid.
