My aunt has a 2003 Honda Civic that’s done @28k Miles, she keeps threatening to swap it, but doesn’t want a new car with new fangled gadgets on it!

I brought a new MGTF in 2005 but only put it on the road in the summer to have a play in, it’s done 15000 miles so far. The average will drop too as I don’t use it at all now really as I love my new car so much, I’m hoping it might go up in value eventually but it’s not worth anything at the moment. Mind you I did less than 6000 miles last year in my ‘daily‘ driver, it’s a 44 mile round trip to work so you can tell I don’t go very often!

Joan's had her car from new in June 2004.
The recorded MOT mileage recently has been June 2016 18,954 June 2017 19,429 June 2018 19,865 June 2019 20,399 I guess that after I retired in Dec 2015 we've used my car for most of our journeys together with just an occasional trip in Joan's to keep the battery topped up. Useful to keep though for those times when we go our different ways at the same time. Mick

500 miles in one year is really low, but if you want to keep it than why not it's your money (and I don't think you're short of it).
I have 2 cars which is perhaps a waste having 3 cars between me and my wife when I only work locally a couple of days a week, but my second car is a runaround that I can throw my rubbish in, so it comes in handy. I would be happy to drive to your house for the weekend mick, because when I see your posts I get a special tingle |

1207 between my last MOTs, and a recommendation that I drive more miles!
Half the issue is while I need it for my own commute, if we go anywhere as a couple, it's easier to use Chris's for accessibility. It's a 10 plate, btw, and still under 20k miles. /Mo |

My mileage was never that high and I live in a City and most f what I do is close by.
Since retiring, I am using my bicycle for most journeys and my milage will reduce much further to maybe 1200 miles per year. I will cycle more this year than drive. Keeping my milage low will help my car keep its value. |
