It is in my siggy

We didn't do Atlantis waterpark this year but did it last year and loved it. We were staying at a Jumerieh hotel so had free entry to Wild n Wadi so went there instead!

You'll all love it! I've been to Dubai 4 times, 3 of which were in August, once with a 3 month old and we had a fantastic time. I stayed for a night at Atlantis in 2014 and the hotel is truly majestic. The water park is brilliant. I too had a nose at Emirates holidays and couldn't believe how reasonable they are! We are going to Abu Dhabi in the October half term to stay at Yas and although we wanted a slow paced holiday, we are looking at a night in Dubai now, lol. Do read Mel's report to wet your appetite - it's fantastic! There are a good few seasoned travellers to Dubai on here, so do ask away if you have any questions. You'll be fine with the heat as everything but outside is air conditioned, although I don't find the August heat unbearable, but just be sensible with regards to keeping yourself hydrated

We were in Dubai in May this year; I'm in the process of writing my trip report.

My sister lives there so we didn't stay at any hotels but visited the aquarium at Atlantis and will definitely take my kids to the water park when they are older. The Dubai Mall is fab and its worth going up the Burj Khalifa. If you are there on a Friday you should do a brunch. We also did a great boat trip.

I am looking forward to reading this, we are going in May next year, staying with friends for a bit and then a hotel on the Palm.

Just one question if you don't mind, what are the prices like in the Malls. We are going with our two daughters (will be 11 and 15) so wondering whether birthday/Christmas money could be taken as they will be able to get a few deals etc

Sounds lovely, where do your friends live? My sister is in Sustainable City which south near Arabian Ranches.

We didn't really do much shopping to be honest; we were at the Mall to go the Burj, go to Kidzania and then have dinner & see the fountains. Think I only bought stuff in Bath and Body Works which is more expensive than the US ones but still had deals on then the Lego shop which was similarly priced to others.

They live on Arabian Ranches. Think I wont bother with birthday/Christmas money. Looking forward to it, we are going to book the Fairmont The Palm hotel

Aw fab; there are lots of shops so I'm sure they could / would spend money no problem if they did want things. We were heading to HK after so we had given our kids money to spend in Disney there so that's why we didn't really shop for things there.

We got a taxi from the airport easily as we arrived in the middle of the night although we did need to direct the driver as my sister lives the other side of Arabian Ranches 2.

Have to be honest there are very few bargains to be had any more. They prices are similar to here if not slightly higher. We usually go twice a year and I very rarely shop now. They may see a few little souvenirs but unlikely to get any big savings on anything else. Every now and again the kids will go to the Karama with friends but I don't go.
