Motorway question
This is a genuine question as I really don't know the answer.
If lorries are not allowed in the fast lane of a Motorway is this affected by how many lanes there actually are? As I said on another thread the M11 has quite a stretch of two lanes and the hold ups caused by lorries overtaking lorries is horrendous. |

Here you go.
The right-hand lane of a motorway with three or more lanes MUST NOT be used (except in prescribed circumstances) if you are driving any vehicle drawing a trailer a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes but not exceeding 7.5 tonnes, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter a goods vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes a passenger vehicle with a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver a passenger vehicle with a maximum laden weight not exceeding 7.5 tonnes which is constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter. So 2 lane Motorways yes they can use Lane 2

Years ago while driving through Germany, some of the roads we were on had rules where lorries had to stay on the inside lane when going uphill. Thought it was a good idea and wondered why we don't adopt that system here.

They may have a speed limit but I have had a wagon right up my backside on the inside lane when I have my cruise control set at 70!
Nolans by the way!
