Kids and the DDP
I'm looking at menus and confused as to what we can order on DDP.
We are 2A and 2C but one is on the adult dining plan, the other isn't. We cant upgrade her. Can the DS who's on the adult plan pick a kids meal and use an adult credit? So in theory both have kids meals but still not pay anything? Probably not the best use of credits but it keeps the peace. Also what do we get in a TS restaurant with our credits? Is it mains only? Some dishes seem to need sides adding - would this be extra? Also we do get any starters or desserts or are these extra too? thanks |

Hi, we're in the same boat our 10 year old will prefer the child's menu and it's fine to use his TS credit on the children's menu. The TS meal includes a main, dessert and drink.

You get a main course, drink and pudding for your credit either table service or quick service.
I don't know the answer to using kids ts credits for both your children. If they both like similar things you could order an adult meal and a kids meal and they could split them. We have paid oop for a kids meal for our ds 9 (upgraded to adult plan) then used the left over ts credits to provide us with another meal. I wouldnt pay for your other kids meal with an adult credit - pay oop and save them so you can do signatures or have an extra meal somewhere. Although more often than not my ds eats off the adult menu to give him more choice as he is a very adventurous eater. For quick service you can order adult or child meals as the credits are not split. We often ordered 2 qs meals and maybe a snack between the 3 of us. Here is my food report from AKL last year - page 12 onwards - you can see some of the adult ts meals plus qs at Mara. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...967425&page=12

As mentioned above, it may be better value to pay out of pocket for the child meal instead of using a TS credit.
You could then use the "spare" TS credits to perhaps book a 2TS Signature meal, such as Cinderellas Royal Table, or a 2TS Dinner Show (Hoop de Doo, Mickey's Backyard BBQ), or an additional Character buffet meal.

You're entitled to a main course, soft drink and dessert each. Some sides are extra and you'd need to pay OOP but the Boathouse is the only place I know where you would have to pay extra for the usual chips/potatoes and veg/salad. The sides you'd pay extra for on DDP would be the same as in a restaurant over here - additional veg, onion rings, mac & cheese etc.
You should be able to order a childs meal and use an adult credit. |
