Favourite things to do in DLP

Hi all,
I am a long time lurker but have a question. We (my 5 year old DD and me) are going to DLP (with a friend and her 5 year old) in September and got a great deal on DLP hotel so are staying there. We have got free dining included and will definitely do lunch with the princesses with two girls but what would you all say is your favourite thing to do in DLP? We have been 3 times before and always enjoy it but I know so many tips for WDW from the Dibb but not much other than the usual rides to do in DLP. Any tips would be great. The girls both love Disney and are just tall enough for ToT and hopefully Crush. One is a daredevil and the other not as much! Thanks in advance!

I love exploring the castle at DLP - there is a dragon in the basement and upstairs there are scenes from Sleeping Beauty story in the stained glass windows. There is also a window which changes picture as you look at it

I love walking down Main Street at 8am when it's deserted, and watching it wake up.

Sitting in one of the arcades with an ice cream sheltering from the sun/rain!

Standing under the umbrella in the Studios (which is to do with the French film 'Les Parapluies de Cherbourg' and not Singin' in the Rain as many people think.

Riding in one of the Main Street vehicles. (Can you tell I love Main Street?!)

Watching Orbitron go round. That ride is much more interesting to watch than to ride!

How about the 'descent of the stairs' at the DLH? The characters come down the stairs and meet guests. Not done it myself but seen videos and it looks great - and much less crowded than the train 'scrums'.

What else? How about an alarm call from Mickey in the morning? You can programme this on your room phone.

Oh wow the call from Mickey sounds amazing. What is the descent of the stairs and how do I find it? Sounds really intriguing!

Thursday >Sunday in reception of the Disneyland Hotel about 4-5pm (time varies, check with reception) a load of characters dance down the main staircase and then meet'n'greet. We've had fab character interaction there and no scrums. You can look on YouTube.

We also like the Aladdin's Passage, DS 4yrs particularly loves it and climbing in the fort at Thunder Mesa. And exploring the caves and going over the rope bridges.

My new treat is a cocktail at Cafe Fantasia. We also love BBWWS, you can get cheaper tickets online than if you book through TA. My little ones really enjoy that.

Oh sounds amazing! Where is Aladdin's passage?

I think WB is part of the dining plan?

BBWWS is not part of the dining plan but you can use your half board vouchers as part payment. You might be mixed up with Billy Bobs/ La Grange upstairs.

I love exploring Alice's curious labyrinth, which often gets missed out, and DS loves climbing to the top of the tower- you get some great views and photo opportunities over Fantasyland from up there.
Take time to explore all the caves in Adventureland (Davy Jones' locker etc) but they ARE dark (and freak me out a little TBH ).
Watch the parade standing to the right of IASW - it will either start or finish here and you get an good uninstructed view.
In the studios- the girls will love Animagique. And you will be humming the song all day
Have a great trip
