Legacy Lightsaber in Hand Luggage

Hi, I have read that people are bringing back their lightsabers from Savi's Workshop back as hand luggage with no issues. I was wondering whether anyone had brought back a legacy lightsaber which, I believe, is in a box with a separate longer blade in another box. My son has decided this is the one he would like and is saving hard for next August.

We are flying with BA and just wanted to see what your experiences were.

Bring it back in your hold luggage. Simple.

The same rules apply whatever lightsaber you bring back. To be honest, I suspect most of the security staff and flight attendants won’t know the difference between a lightsaber bought from Savi’s and one bought from Dok Ondars (i.e the Legacy lightsabers).

As for the blade itself, you can buy two different lengths for the Legacy lightsabers. One is shorter than the one from Savi’s and one is a little longer (but only by around 4 inches, I think). You should have no problems bringing back as part of your hand luggage.

When we flew back last month we had no issues taking 3 light sabres (savi) on the BA aircraft. But there was no way they would fit in the overhead lockers unless they had one all to themselves. Flight was full so that wasnt going to happen. Had to remove the hilts from them and then put them on top of the carry ons in the overhead lockers.

Just returned this weekend with legacy lightsaber - had "blade" in box as hand luggage and hilt in its presentation case also hand luggage - the box for 36"blade fitted overhead locker (va) no prob. Had phoned va to get advice who advised hand luggage.

We flew back on Saturday evening with two of the hand built Savi one's.
We had planned to put them both in checked in luggage but when we removed the blades to pack them, there was no way they would fit in any of our cases.
The hilts went in our cases & we hand carried the blades in the carriers that they give you, they fitted in the overhead locker on the plane with no worries at all.

My OH brought back a legacy and a Savis workshop lightsabre in October. Both went in the galley luggage area on the flight back, no questions asked (we flew with Virgin).
