We've rented the larger Suntracker Pontoon Boats and the 2 seater Sea Racers in the past from the Grand Floridian.

As long as you have personal ID (Driving Licence) you are good to go.

It's a really nice way to spend an hour just relaxing and driving around the lagoon past the hotels and the ferry entrance to MK (although you have to watch out for the ferries).

In my experience you do tend to get followed around by the Disney staff on their boats, of course they are trying to protect you and the ferry's and they don't want anything bad to happen but it felt a bit restrictive to me. Maybe it was my poor boat driving skills though...

Edit to add I have only done it at the Beach Club so other areas might be different. You can drive down to Hollywood Studios and back and around the Boardwalk etc but that's about it. Can't go past Epcot etc from this location. Along with your licence you can use magic band to pay.

For the small sea raycers you don’t need a licence. You need to be over 12 and also at least 5ft tall.

Also be careful of the heat last time my 15 year old went out On the small sea raycers she had a proper t shirt on, cap and covered in sunscreen and also a bottle of water (August). When she came back in she felt sick, then she couldn’t see properly. We had to sit for another half hour in shade a cast member got her extra water until she felt better

She had used these boats 3 or 4 times before same time of year and been fine and had been drinking her water

We hired one of the 10 seat Sun Tracker pontoon boats last year from the Poly.
As previous posters have said it's a very relaxing way to spend an hour or so, especially once you head up to Bay Lake.
The wake from other boats, especially the ferry boats is not to be underestimated though, I would not want to be in anything smaller than what we were.
We will definitely do it again the next time we are over.
