Wine delivery 'club's
I've just seen a couple of fb adverts for wine clubs. They all seem to have a catch or need a minimum spend each month.
Are there any reasonably priced (sub £10 per bottle) no commitment ones out there. Who would dibbers recommend? |

We’ve used Naked Wines & Virgin Wines, would recommend both of them.

We use The Wine Society. No monthly payments or minimum spend. One off cost for membership.

We use Naked Wines. We just add a bit of money each month and then order a box when we have accumulated enough. The wines are lovely and great quality. You are also supporting small producers rather then the big brands you see in supermarkets.

We do the same, pay £10 per month and then order when we fancy. By committing each some money each month you are a member (An ‘Angel’) so get a discount but you can just order without but that does put a % on (20% I think). We really enjoy the wines, tend to order bottles between £7.99 - 10.00 with the discount.

I have used Naked Wined and The Times.
Both are fine, but stopped them as I think I get better wine and better value at a local wine merchant. And they are incredibly knowledgeable. What they ask not so expert customers to do is keep the receipt and record what they think of each wine. They can then use this to select other wined you might like. They get to know you and that helps. Wouldn't go back to using a wine club. |

We've used Naked Wines, Virgin Wines and Laithwaites.
Definitely think Laithwaites is the best in terms of flexibility. You say how often you want a case and only pay when that case is despatched, you can skip a case or cancel the club at any time. They also have a money back guarantee if you don't like a bottle (not that we've ever used it... ). Out of the three I'd say Laithwaites overall is the best quality and value for money. Virgin do some great deals occasionally (I got 16 bottles for 60pounds inc delivery a couple of months ago). They seem a bit more difficult to cancel/rearrange a case though. Didn't like paying monthly for Naked Wines and didn't find the quality as good as Laithwaites/Virgin. |
