Thank you, looks good. Santa Barbara is on the list as I was a big fan of the USA show 'Psych' . My sons think i'm sad and apparently it wasn't even filmed their, it was filmed in Canada .
Also want to go to at least 1 or 2 national parks.

Happy planning to you. We have just decided to do this, so literally just starting to plan. I will read some trip reports, thank you and maybe steal some of your ideas. We've always wanted to do a road trip in US. I'm very excited to start planning.

Excited about Disney

I found the info surprisingly easily. The tour guide we chose was Vincent Jarno. He was great. The tour was Los Angeles private Highlights Tour and cost $320 USD. But as I said, there are lots of different options and prices on Tours by Locals, just choose one with lots of good reviews. When we priced it up it was good value, especially as many tours either cost extra to get you to a central location for the tour to start or/and had lots of wasted time. This way we had the full attention of the guide, could go at our own pace and weren't waiting about for anyone. Plus, he could get us to places a bus might not be able to go.
We did this on our first day in LA and it was a great intro to the city at the start of our 3 week California adventure. |

Bazinga 39 - obviously a Big Bang fan, therefore going to Warner Studios will be a religious experience for you!

We stayed in Santa Monica... had a full day in LA.
WB studios tour Gates of Disney studios (All Burbank area) Griffiths observatory... very busy but worth it for the view of the Hollywood sign. Griffith park... carousel were Walt used to take his daughters. Hollywood Blvd - don’t spend too long unless particular things you want to see. Beverley hills - nice drive round. Sure there are good tours but we drove ourselves. Rodeo Drive - not much here but always fun stopping in the hotel (Beverley Wiltshire) for a Pretty Woman cocktail

The first time we went to LA we drove up to Griffith Park for a view of the Hollywood sign. Unfortunately it was dark by the time we got up there and we hadn't realised that the sign isn't lit up - we spent quite a while looking for it and asking peole who must have thought us a bit strange 😔
However the views across LA, with the city all lit up, were spectacular and more than made up for it. |
