I did one day at Universal and one day at Islands of Adventure a couple of years ago and that's it. I've never stayed there. I stayed on site at WDW last year and the year before and am leaning towards ditching my week at POFQ and switching to Universal, staying at Sapphire Falls. I then have 5 complimentary nights at Disney's Polynesian which I'll keep. I'll see if this year's park tickets are back on sale but if they're not I'll be happy mooching around the resort, Disney Spring etc as it'll be 4 and a bit days.

We upgraded to Club Level too which was amazing for us. As you're solo it may not be so worthwhile for the cost?
Th Express passes were a godsend too but you only get them at HRH, RPR and Portofino Bay which might be something to consider. Felt like royalty walking in the special line area If we stay again I think HRH would be voted in. We are due to stay at POFQ this August for 16 nights but I really can't justify the costs tbh with everything that's been taken away. We often do a tour of the Disney resorts and DS using the different modes of transport they got. I love it and it's a cracking day but the kids are getting bored of it now though but normally an ice cream bribe works. |

I really hope so, I want to crack on and make a decision about moving to universal.
Fancy a bit of busch, sea world and coast if Disney doesn't pan out but I need to persuade dh and dd that this is the way to go. They are both all Disney

£600 is a no brainer really
I'm gonna start pricing up different options of what to do as can't see Disney happening for us 3 weeks on the coast would be too much (I need to be doing something as can't lie on the beach all day) so we'll have to venture up towards Orlando to do some other stuff. Seriously considering knocking all parks on the head and defaulting to our off the beaten track kind of holiday. |

If they're opening at reduced capacity I really can't imagine that you'd need the EPs this year, we usually go at the end of August and whilst they're nice to have, we often comment that we probably don't really need them, and that's at normal capacity.
Sapphire Falls is gorgeous, we booked a night for my 'kids' to stay in after HHN in Oct '18 so we didn't have to pick them up & find each other late at night, I wanted them to have somewhere with the water taxi transfer so they had a very simple journey back to their room, it's the only Universal mid range that does. We went with them to check in and were very taken with it after only staying at their premium hotels in the past.

Good point.
My original holiday is 7 days POFQ 2 days HRH 8 days Cabana Bay (family suite) I've already got 3 days of express days to use if need be, so could probably go for somewhere else, rather than RPR which is what I've been tending toward (approx £1500 for 7 nights). The reviews put me off slightly for Endless Summer... we like a good pool. I'll have a look at Sapphire Falls...it's not one I've considered before. |

Just priced Sapphire Falls for ourselves with tickets - same 16 nights as Disney.
£2000 cheaper but need to get food out of that plus less parks Vs Disney (I know Disney doesn't have the DDP now but i based it on it having it originally IYGWIM). Can see a plan coming together Edited to add - if we get 35% off Disney like the US of A have then it would be same price Have to wait and see Edited at 10:41 AM. |
