Cancelled dining plans- share your experiences
I hope this is allowed- I wanted to create a thread where everyone can share their outcomes once they’ve been in touch with Disney and/or their TA regarding the cancelled dining plans. I’ve come up with a template but please feel free to add whatever information Dibbers may find useful. Mods, please edit or remove as you see fit in order to keep this post compliant with Dibb guidelines.
What are your travel dates and which Disney property are you staying at? Did you book direct with Disney or a travel agent? If you used an agent, which one? Which dining plan did you have booked (QSDP, DDP, DDDP)? Did you pay to add the dining plan to your booking or was it included for free as part of a Free Dining package? If you received Free Dining, did you pay to upgrade your dining plan? When did you contact Disney/your travel agent and what method did you use? (phone, email, Twitter, WhatsApp etc) How long did it take for a cast member/agent to respond? What options were you given? (Rebook with 35% room discount, keep current booking with 35% room discount, keep current booking with daily cost of dining plan removed, keep current booking with no discount, cancel with fees waived or deposit returned, other?) What did you decide to do? If you are expecting a refund or reduction, how long will it be until you receive it? How has Disney/your agent handled “extras” such as tickets to MNSSHP or pre-ordered Magic Bands? Thank you everyone. |

Booked with Attraction Tickets DDP included as part of free dining plan Emailed Attraction Tickets to cancel this morning response came back in 2 hours confirming cancellation with full refund (which is just our deposit as we hadn't yet paid balance) We cancelled Deposit to be returned within 14 days (refund has been received 2 days after cancelling) I cannot fault their service every time we asked questions via email they replied within an hour/2 hours.

I have just received this email from Disney. It basically seems to say that they don't know yet how it impacts our booking and they will email again when they do.
