Taking cash

I’ve got around $60 dollars in cash ready for our trip
But I’m starting to think when am I going to use it
I don’t use cash in the U.K. now and I’ve just read you can tip Uber drivers on the app

Those taking cash still, when do you use it?

I take a very small amount for other tips (housekeeping, etc) plus also for a few vendors that don't take cards. The Disney balloons for example!

We take $100-$200, but it's "just in case" money and rarely gets touched. There's just no need, particularly when staying on property when you can even tip bar staff the dollar-per-drink (or whatever) when you charge to your room.

Don't know if you're staying onsite? I've only stayed in Universal hotels, other times it's villa/car for us. I take a fair bit of cash, for :

Tips: restaurants, hotel
Prefer paying for petrol by cash
Paying for snacks, ice cream, etc in the parks, and out and about
small grocery shops
Drive thrus: McDonald's, Taco Bell etc
Tolls

We still use cash though we seem to be in the minority
Always pay for our food cash, meals out & Walmart usually & Taxis if doing a city holiday 💰💰
Everything else, clothes shopping & big spends we use the Halifax card

A lot of restaurants don’t have card machines they can bring to your table, so unless you’re going to go with them to the their machine (which I did a few times), they’re going to take your card away from you which can and has led to fraud to me, even when only dining in well known establishments.

We took a combination of cash and card for our most recent trip.

I think I have taken the same $250 with me for over 7 years. Never had to use a dollar bill in recent years - even vending machines take card/watch; I I will continue to carry it with me just incase I hit a shop, bar or restaurant that's cash only (highly unlikely)

We still take dollars. Last time we were there back in 2019 we chatted to servers in restaurants and asked them if they preferred their tips in cash or through our card and they always preferred the cash. So we always pay their tips in cash.

Small amount of cash for tips and petrol ( never pay by card at gas stations) .
Never had an issue with card use at restaurants. All we have been to take the card reader to table. This was in 2019. If the machine happened to be at the desk I’d have no issue ingoing there with the card, but never had to do that last trip.
Road tolls. Just pay for toll pass at rental desk and never have to worry about tolls, just drive thro.
