Beach Club - chances of day bed?
Hi Dibbers,
So originally booked for CBR 5th sleeper for August 2020, moved to August 2021 again CBR with 5th sleeper. Now having to change again for August 2021 but no 5th sleeper rooms available at CBR. Don't want to do POR or POFQ just because we are looking to stay somewhere new. With the cancelled holidays giving us extra time to save and it looking like deluxe hotels will get more benefits I have decided to rebook for August 2022 at Beach Club. So how likely is it that a family of 4 (Me, DH, DD 14 & DS 9) will get a room with 2 queen beds and a day bed? With they take in to consideration that the kids are opposite genders? Should I invent an imaginary 2 year old? Edited at 03:15 PM. |

Not sure what the chances are of getting one, but we've had an imaginary 2 year old on 3 holidays now for exactly this reason (once at POR and twice at CBR before you could book them as separate categories) and have always got the 5th sleeper

You will have no issues at checking as not everyone has to go up.
Do you mean Aug 22 as the chance of Aug 21 is very slim with many carriers cancelling current bookings. I will warn you, the main beds at BC are very hit and miss. It's a coin throw if you will get an old bed or replaced mattress. We got moved due to a collapsed bed at BC and the new room had a day bed before they came and took it away. The daybed was a poor mattress. The main beds were still not great. Some people will agree while others will disagree, but like I said its hit and miss. You also aren't guaranteed a day bed, it's first come and as UK flight guests tend to make late checkins, you will be at the end of the requests.

We've stayed at BC 8 times and have had a sofa / daybed every time without requesting. We've had several different locations and a few different room layouts - but always a full size sofa/bed. We've never had an uncomfortable bed either.

There’s never a guarantee as they are given to parties of 5 first. We stayed over New Year 2018/19. My Mil was with us and no way did Ds want to share with her and vice versa. We’d spent Christmas at the contemporary where a day bed was in every room. He thought the day beds were comfy.
We made a few requests at the beach club and everyone was granted including the day bed. The hotel was full so I was surprised to get everything we’d asked for. We phoned to put on the request and the day bed was the first thing I’d asked for. Good thinking with the imaginary 2 year old though.

Most of the rooms do have a sofa / day bed though. We go as a couple, we have never requested one but have always had one despite not checking in till late in the day.
