Help introducing a pup to our nearly 4 year old French **** update we've done it!cuteness overload!

Hi All,

I am after some advice and past experiences about looking to introduce a pup to our French bulldog, "Shanks" is ok with some dogs and loves play dates with the mother in laws pom.

Wed love a second dog to keep him company and with the wife working from home for the foreseeable it seems to be the right time, He has had a couple of arguements with some dogs but generally he's ok

any advice would be great

thanks

Our frenchies are fine with other dogs and even when we’ve brought new dogs in to the house
It’s just a case of supervision allowing them to sort out the pecking order and intervening if you need to
Even down to things like Shanks get fed first and pup learns that no you don’t go near his bowl etc
Just to show I’m not kidding

The other 2 dogs a Frenchmen and a staffie are on the other chair when this was taken they had got to warm in the heap

thanks Gryff, were so close to doing it but my biggest concern is the clown we currently have seeing his ≈≈≈≈, I know it will be a tough couple of weeks to start with, couldn't live with myself if we brought another in and it didn't work out

We are looking to maybe get a friend for our soon to be 3 year old English bull terrier, he absolutely loves other dogs, so think it would be company for him, DH is at home all day, but obviously a 4 legged friend would probably be preferred!

We have 3 dogs introduced at different times. We’ve done what Gryff recommends - we put the puppy down and let them all get on with it and intervene if needs be. We keep the pecking order - they all get the same but the oldest dog gets it first then goes down in seniority. They are just one pack now. Off lead they charge around together and look out for each other.

DS has recently got a girl puppy, English Springer Spaniel. Their 10 year old boy ESS has been fine. They are the best of friends, playing and sleeping together. No problems whatsoever.

that's the thing that drew me to him, usually their ears are little bit hit and miss at his age, they are fine sample of listening devices!

here's the other clown...
