Sunday BBQ with friends day

Today will be a short write up as not much happens except we spend a lovely afternoon/ evening with some friends. Janice and Mark and their family ( 3 children 22, 18, 13) and Janices’ brother Andy.

Today was supposed to be warmer than the last few days which is good. We had brunch in the villa and then set off to Walmart to get supplies for the barbecue.

Walmart was heaving! And who should we run in to when we got there but our friends also doing some shopping for the barbecue. I got 4 little bottles of wine again along with a box to take as a little joke. Last time we had a party on holiday Adrian got a box of beer but when they opened it they were very small ones. He was so embarrassed so the idea was I would pretend I had made a mistake this time. It went down quite well, they thought it was funny.

When we got back to the villa I did a bit of washing and we showered before Mark and Janice came to pick us up at 3pm. They took us down the short cut Florence Road and then onto Funie Steed road. I had seen this before when looking at the map but hadn’t tried it, we did use it again after that.

We had a lovely afternoon with lovely food and plenty of alcohol, Janices’ cousin and husband were also visiting for a few days. Tina (the cousin) was a bridesmaid with me at Janices and Marks wedding many years ago, I have seen her a few times since but it was lovely to see her again, and her hubby Will is ex military and now a policeman. They had met many years ago but due to circumstances they drifted apart, but kept in touch. A few years ago they met up again when Tina came to Florida on holiday with Janice and they fell in love again, they got married a year later and she now lives in the States with him.

It was nearly midnight when we left and Adam arranged for an Uber to pick us up. The driver was fantastic and the journey only cost $10.51. It cost us $10 two years ago form the same villa back to Lindfields and our villa this time was at least twice the distance. I was expecting a $30 fee so I gave him a very good tip.

It was 12.15am when we got home and we just piled into bed, didn’t even put out swimmers outside to dry!

Ha ha it was nice wine, so was the box I got too
