Unfortunate timing for cruise cancellation

Like many others, we are feeling a bit nervous about President Biden’s announcement today regarding travel to the USA. If it is a mandatory isolation on arrival then we will probably have to cancel our Jan WDW week/Fantasy & the cruise cancellation fee is now 50% as of today (Yesteray was cancel without penalty). The Disney hotel will be 70% as of tomorrow (50% today but booked via a UK travel agent who will be closed before JB speaks). The theme park tickets are fully refundable and Virgin Atlantic will permit a rebook voucher up to April 2023 for the flight but I have a sneaking suspicion they could be out of business by then as a mandatory isolation will cripple the UK-> USA holiday industry.

On a more positive note, I have rearranged our observed pre-flight antigen tests from 3 days before to 1 day before and we have tests to take with us if there is a post arrival 3 day test to do. (Three antigens effectively “free” as Prenetics didn’t want them back when upgrading to PCR).

I think the only time we will really believe it is happening is when we are sat on the plane…

Regarding Prenetics, their associated Azova website for booking the observed tests is a nightmare when making changes. I managed to end up in a Catch 22 where it decided I was on Mountain Standard Time and insisted on a US State & Zip Code for United Kingdom. Their technical support were bizarre and just ignored my direct questions!

I eventually sorted it with a bit of lateral thinking but it was a real pain.

I'm assuming the announcement has left you feeling possibly more positive as there was no isolation added on. The 1 day thing I think was the only impact and you have already sorted that bit! It definitely wont feel real until you make it on to that plane
