I wonder if this hotel is anywhere near the iride for access to International Drive and all of the restaurants on there

We dont really know this area as usually just do Disney

Seems a bit farther out than the other Universal hotels

it would appear not, i have booked for next November and i will have a hire car. i asked when i booked about the parking as when at cabana bay the parking charge was included.
was told no - will have to cough up the $14 a night for parking at the endless summer.

Yes it is near the iride stop. The hotel entrance faces international drive although the address is universal boulevard. It’s where wet n wild used to be so not on the universal resort like the other hotels but only about 5 minutes on the hotel shuttle to the parks. There are restaurants in walking distance, Denny’s, Applebee’s, ihop and KFC as well as a Walgreens to get quick essentials. And probably others I haven’t thought of yet. 😊

The Wallgreens is directly opposite and is walkable. 10 min. walk to Chillis etc. Stand by for someone to come along and say this is the 'tacky' end of I Drive

I love Chilis when its good. When its bad, its bad. Appleebees is normally bad, but boy, I went to one in Pensylvania near Hershey 2 years back and it was outstanding. 2 meals for 20 dollars and it was lovely, we went twice.

Excited about Disney

Can't wait to stay here, have got 10 nights booked for August 2020 (got a good price through ATD - £1400 for park tickets and hotel for 3 of us). Am also excited to hear that there are restaurants etc in walking distance. We've previously only ever stayed onsite at Disney with between 2-5 days at RPR, so this will be more of a leisurely 'budget' trip next year. Thanks for posting!

Wow, the main restaurant looks awful, we will certainly not be eating here. It’s hard to believe they are serving up such crap.

This guy couldn’t even finish his burger. Luckily many choices at Citywalk or just up and down iDrive. I certainly will not be eating here. Nothing like the promo they had on the food. It’s all pre prepared, cold, sat under heat lamps for ages, awful!

Imo most hotel eateries suck. Disney and universal are exceptions... but even I will admit universal's in hotel places are not great. Though cabana has a nice selection.

As you say, plenty of local options.
