Upgrade Standard SUV to Premium SUV.
I was considering upgrading a booking that I have with VH for a Standard SUV to a Premium SUV in the hope that I would get a Cadillac XT5 at Orlando International Airport. There are 4 of us travelling so we would have 4 suitcases and maybe 3 small carry-ons and would need the boot space as we are travelling to Marco Island (4hrs each way) for a couple of days during our trip and I don't want a big gas guzzler. I have 2 questions:
▪Is the XT5 considered a Premium or Premium Elite? ▪Would the XT5 have enough boot space or should I just stick with the Santa Fe in the standard? |

I’ve never been lucky enough to get a premium or premium elite SUV - but if it’s just size you are concerned about I wouldn’t write off the standard too quick.
Last two years I’ve managed to fit 5 people - 3 adults and 2 teens + 5 full size cases and 2 hand luggage bags in a standard with some careful packing. Ok. It’s not comfortable and perhaps wouldn’t suit you if you have a longer drive from the airport (I’m only going MCO to Four Corners). There was a really useful cargo space note going about for standard suv a while ago showing available cubic feet behind second row of seats. And if you do decide to upgrade, needless to say do it before you go. I looked at changing to full size and it would have actually been cheaper for me to cancel with VH, pay the £50 admin fee then rebook with Andy and DFCH - might be worth a look. |

Thanks garryboy11 for the reply. The upgrade isn't just about the boot capacity, it's about a bit of a holiday treat to myself. I just want to know if the XT5 is available at Alamo MCO in the Premium SUV section and if so would it have enough boot space for our luggage.

The Cadillac XT5 is definitely available at MCO and is classed as Premium Elite (BMW x3 etc).
Its quite a compact SUV for 5 people having said that, there was 4 of us and we enjoyed the luxury feel to it. I think the Santa Fe may have a slightly larger boot capacity but the XT5 is definitely a different driving experience with the 'standard' 3.6 V6 engine https://DIBB.in/13571463 |
