Hiring boats at Grand Floridian

Hi we are wanting to hire a boat for a little something different but someone I was talking too thought you had to be staying in a Disney hotel to do this. Does anyone know if this is correct?

It's open to anyone but anyone renting not staying at the resort must have photo ID.

We've rented at Fort Wilderness - and weren't staying there - it was great

Had a massive pontoon boat - great value we thought

That’s what we need as there are 7 of us. If anyone has any pictures I’d love to see them.

This is good to hear. We rented a boat a few years back but since the change to Disney Springs the boat hire dock has disappeared. I'll have a look online to see the easiest place from Disney Springs to hire from.

We did it twice last year and were staying offsite - once from the Boardwalk and once from the Floridian. There were 7 of us and we hired the same sort of boat each time. Much preferred going from the Floridian as bigger area to go out in. We loved it - will try and upload some photos of the boats. One photo of the Floridian shows the type of boat in the background that we hired (they look tiny compared to the massive one you can also hire!) but it is a great size and spacious.
