It's actually quite good for immigration. Well, compared to some other airports. It tends to be less busy and slightly friendlier than at Orlando Intl airport (MCO).

It takes just over an hour to drive. You may have to wait on the bus for a while for everyone to get on first though - this can be anything from an additional 5 minutes to an extra hour.

Yes, EMH is a perk and therefore it's worth trying to go to the parks during these times - when you can.

I wouldn't advise going to every EMH though - the late nights and early mornings will eventually get to you. Just go to a few.

Where/when can i find out park opening times.
Look at the Park Hours page here on the DIBB.

Or look in the Disney app or on the Disney website here:

You can do either. You can pay OOP for his meal if you want and just pay using credits for your meal. Or you can ask for a kids meal for him and use a meal credit.

I'll let the others answer the rest.

My son is a bit younger than yours but things he enjoyed outside of rides and characters were:

Magic Kingdom: Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, which is an interactive card game around the park. You each can collect a free pack of cards from the firehouse on Main Street and take on quests around the park.

Animal Kingdom: Wilderness Explorers, as you go around the park, you collect badges by talking to cast members and learning, which is free.

Hollywood Studios: Jedi training, sign up near the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, early in the day to get a good time slot.

All parks: Hidden Mickey spotting and pin trading. We bought a starter pin set there, but you can buy some on ebay and other places before you go. If you child plays Pokemon go, you can get some great Pokemon in the parks
