part of the perk of staying in a hotel on holiday is the feeling of being looked after. I always make sure i tidy up but i don't want to change my bed on holiday. I guess each to their own.

We are here now and opted out. Bad experiences in the past make me not want others going in our room (I know security may still check in every now and again though). We got a $130 gift card. It was emailed to me but I didn’t receive it so the front desk have given me a physical gift card.

We stayed at All star sports in August and we opted out, the gift card was emailed immediately and we had no problems using it in the shops and keeping track of the remaining balance.

After opting out and receiving the gift card though we needed them do a full clean halfway through our stay. We have a 5 year old and ended up with crumbs etc so needed the room hoovering. We just paid $10 at reception and they had housekeeping come later that day around 5pm and do a full clean.

We had one security check which was very quick. They never entered the room fully, just tested the lights and door.

When i go away (not WDW) i always put the do not disturb sign up. Nothing to do with saving money for me but i hate it when they change the towels and sheets every day - i dont do this at home so dont need it on holiday.
The only way i can stop it is to stop them coming into the room

Hope they carry this on. Going next year we have an autistic son who doesn't like people coming in the room so we always put do not disturb on the door anyway.

I was on another POR page and the issue is that security do random checks. My grandson will be sleeping between 2.30 - 4.00.my daughters going to be a tad annoyed if that sleep is interrupted I’m considering taking a laminated note for the door

Four year old sleeping. Please do not knock or enter room

We put up a do not disturb sign, and so missed mousekeeping one day. Reception contacted us by phone to arrange a convenient time for them to check the room, so I am sure that you could arrange for a time in advance that does not cause you any disruption.

We were at POR last week and opted out of housekeeping. In the 10 days we were there we never had security knock once!

They might have gone there when you were out, unless you were in your room the whole time every day.
