I'd rather have housekeeping than a small fraction of the room cost refunded by voucher. We tend to choose a deluxe though so it hasn't come up.

We stayed at WL for 14 nights in September and really noticed that housekeeping were stretched. The new policy is that someone must visually inspect the inside of the room every day if housekeeping don't come in. I have ME and find there are days we don't leave the room early enough for housekeeping or at all if we're having a resort day and that's fine with us. I didn't even mind them calling in to inspect (except on day 3 when I'd picked up a stomach bug and couldn't get out of bed and they insisted on coming in even though my husband had gone for a walk!) But we found they wanted all the rooms done by 1pm at the latest so we started getting knocks on the door and phone calls every day to chase us out the room in the morning and so ended up telling them not to bother or just to bring clean towels. At one point we ended up with a massive pile of wet towels because they kept dropping off clean ones and not taking the old ones! We felt rushed and hounded rather than relaxed and looked after and it really didn't help my anxiety. I hope things are different at the BC next year.

Of course i want to use it properly but getting my room serviced just for the sake of it is just pointless in my opinion, plus why would i need fresh towels and sheets everyday? It's just wasteful in my eyes. But that's just my thinking on the matter.

Plus for a few extra dollars in my pocket to treat ourselves, why not opt out?

No, it’s only available at value and moderate resorts not the deluxe hotels. 😊

Yes except for the first night. So if you are staying 14 nights you get $130

Think it's just the Value and moderates (presumably DVC and Deluxe guests are considered in need of daily cleaning )

We'll definitely be doing this next year if it is still offered. We stayed 3 nights at BLT this year and I didn't miss housekeeping at all. On holiday I tend to clean up / make beds as we go along anyway, so our rooms are always tidy.

We’ve just booked to stay at POP for 14 nights next may (2a 2c, our first time onsite but not first time to Disney) and I’m considering opting out of mouse keeping, on the incentive of the gift card. We are one of those families that always keeps the room clean and tidy, makes beds and have emptied our own bins, so I think it would suit us ok! I’m happy to make my own bed sheets and what not, but just want to know how good they are at bringing up replenishments when they’re needed?

Thanks

We grabbed a 5 night stay at CSR. Opted out so had the $40. Many thanks Disney.

Every morning just before we went out I rang Housekeeping and asked for 8 coffee pods and 4 creamers (for my Wife) plus loo roll or whatever else we wanted.

Always delivered before our return. Normally left on the bed in a paper carrier bag

Very efficient system.
