Clearwater or St. Petes Beach
Hi
Looking to do a 21 nts stay next year and can’t decide on which beach to do for the last 5 nts of the holiday. If you have been which do you prefer and why? We have stayed for 2 nts in Clearwater before but never tried anywhere else on the gulf coast. We are a family with older children age 14,11 & 11. Thanks |

For us Clearwater...
Plenty of things to do. Sunset celebration. Movie night at the pier. Little toot. Sea screamer. Lots of water sports. Loads of places to eat and drink, all seem to have entertainment. Covering all budgets. You can park the car up and never use it again as everything is at hand! Then there is the warm calm sea with the pure white sand beach, sunsets of dreams... |

We went to St. Pete's Beach and stayed in a suite on the quieter bayside. Windows/balcony looked over onto the water where, as it was winter, we saw dolphins and manatees swim right up. This particular hotel had a small quiet pool and a large deck/pier with picnic tables and fishing spots where we spent a lot of time (swimming, having a picnic from Publix for tea, fishing). Later we went over to the heaving gulfside to play volleyball, walk on the beach, have a paddle, etc. We quite appreciated the fun of the beach whilst still having our own quiet space on the bayside (only just across the street from the beach) with dolphins swimming up close daily!
If you go during winter, I highly recommend staying on the bayside at St. Pete's Beach.
