Just a word of caution for anyone thinking of booking this in advance.

We got a good deal through Groupon but it's worth noting that the vouchers only apply between 10am to 6pm, and the operators don't budge an inch if you're outside of these times, even by 5 minutes.

The main problem however is that the balloon is shut more than it's actually open, usually due to "thunderstorms in the area" or windy conditions. Now I'm all for safety first but we tried 3 times to get on it recently and it was shut each time, despite the fact there was only a slight breeze and clear skies - it seems that if anyone coughs within a 10 mile radius then they close ! In fact it never rained at all during our first 8 days, which covered the 3 times we tried to get on.

Now that it's officially rainy season in Florida the problem will only get worse as well.

So in the end we never got to use our Groupon vouchers, money down the drain.

Oh no! I bought the same Groupon vouchers so that the four of us could go on the balloon on my husband’s birthday which is while we’re out there. It sounds like you were unlucky - and since it’s only going to get wetter/stormier we could be in trouble. 😔 Thanks for the warning.
