For a first time, I'd be heading to Magic Kingdom (which is, in fact, what we still do on our first day on our 20-something-th visit).

Book a breakfast at Crystal Palace for 8am, get in the park early when there'll be very few people around, and take in the wonderful sights that await you!

Because they now let everyone in at 7.45am it’s not quite as empty as it used to be. That’s why we’ve given up on Crystal Palace and switched to BoG as at least you get access to rides.

Thank you everybody for your helpful suggestions! We have decided to go with the majority and go to MK on our first day.

Hovering your mouse pointer over AK in the busy day guide will show the following:

The busy day guide is mainly aimed at those staying off-site. Hence it doesn't recommend any park that has EMH that day.

However, if you are an on-site guest - and especially if you are up early because it's your first day - then it is recommended you make use of EMH. Get to the park early (before EMH starts) and the park will be at it's quietest for the first couple of hours. It's the best time to visit.

Then, later in the morning (say 10:30am), get some breakfast. And then either park hop to another park - for example, Magic Kingdom - or head back to the campsite or your villa for a rest.
