Mine were always much better with flying because they can usually move around better.

I just don't see the point in the long boring drive when an indirect flight via Atlanta is cheaper in my experience anyway.

We always book diy, just better value for us either as family of 4 or just the 2 of us plus like the space and flexability of a villa as don’t always want to be eating out. We’ve just booked for next June - flights with Thomas cook and villa from tripadvisors holiday rental section. I have usually booked a Dibb villa in the past but needed to put on credit card this time which will pay off in spring. I too was worrying about Airbnb or HomeAway, but feel more secure with tripadvisor - direct and great contact with owner, fab value and security of booking and paying via tripadvisor, not direct.
