October/November 2019 planning
Hi all,
I’m planning a bit of a surprise two week break next year and have booked a split stay - 9 nights at AKL with DDP and then 5 nights at POR which id like to change to FQ but waiting for availability. I was wondering if some of you more knowledgable Disney people could help me with a few questions. Firstly, am I right in thinking that with the dates 27th October to 10th November we will have the opportunity to catch a MNSSHP and a MVMCP? I’m hoping we can just catch the first day or so of the Christmas celebrations before we head back. Secondly, as mentioned above, there is no availability for FQ and I know it’s where my OH would prefer over POR. There is availability on the US Disney website and the price is about £50 cheaper. Obviously I’d have to pay a cancellation fee for the uk booked one, but if booking one through the us site will this cause any problems with MDE or anything else that I might be overlooking? I’m worried doing this might mean we have to pay parking or do UK guests get free parking until 31/12/19 regardless of how they made the actual booking? Booking through the US site seems to offer the advantage of free cancellation (useful if they do any discounts later on as we could cancel and rebook). Finally, (sorry) my other half has a MDE account from our last trip - if I go ahead and link this new booking to my MDE, will it link her or alert her in any way to the plans? It asks for a name and is auto filling hers so I’m thinking that would be a dumb way to ruin the surprise! Thanks in advance for your help! |

You may just get the first mvmcp , it normally starts 1 week after Halloween so looking at the calendar it may start the 8th proving they don’t do another mnsshp with it being the Friday on the 1st . If you do mnsshp do the 31st . It’s fabulous and you will be able to stay to the end as you will have been there a few days. Don’t forget the clocks move while you are away and plan in the marathon weekend which may the the 2nd/3td Nov. Avoid Epcot that weekend and Disney springs . It’s mad.
I think if you book through the USA site you pay for parking, have you considered dvc points for the 5 nights?

Thanks for the reply! So it’s probably just a case of hoping that we catch it - hopefully they release the dates before we book the flights and get locked in. Thanks also for the heads up RE the marathon weekend. We are not DVC members unfortunately so that idea is out.
