1 car or 2

Hi hoping to go to Orlando in October 2016. We will be a family of 11 with 6 eligible drivers. Not sure what to do about car hire. Do we have 2 cars, 1, 7/8 seater and 1 small car or a mini van seating 15, and then rent a 2nd for a few days if want to go out independently?

I have seen loads of posts on here from big families saying how much better it was to have 2 x vehicles for flexibility and also to get away from other family members

I would do dummy bookings to get a flavour of the prices and I am sure you will find 2 will be cheaper. The 12 and 15 seaters are really expensive and sorry to say look awful and are not nice drives

Ive also seen so many post about how so many arguments broke out because they only had one car, because such and such wanted to go somewhere and no one else wanted to.

what about hiring out a full size with 8 seats chevy tahoe, and maybe a full size saloon or maybe something like a Chrysler town&country...
or when you think logical hiring something like a ford focus which still has plenty of room and a 15 seater, which when i was at sanford its the new Ford transit.. in 12/15 seater configuration. Because when you all go to the parks, you want to pay for just one parking fee not 2.
hope this helps.

Having been as 2 families would advise 2 but ultimately choices are for your group enjoy which ever you choose.

2 cars definitely for flexibility.

We originally were going to hire 1 car last year for 10 people. It worked out, even with extra parking and fuel for 2 cars it was cheaper hiring 2 than one big one.

(and having 2 was massive bonus when people fell out halfway through the holiday and went off to do their own thing)
