I personally wouldnt do the drive after a 9hr transatlantic flight. Even with everything working with you, you would be leaving the airport right at rush hour. As jetlag always has us awake very early the next day we just leave at 5am/6am and still get to Orlando at 10am ish so dont feel like we have missed much.

Are there any hotels in Fort Lauderdale airport as we land at 9pm. Will we need to get a taxi to one or can we walk there? Any advice?

There's plenty of them with free shuttles, none walkable.
La Quinta is a nice inexpensive chain who offer this at Fort Lauderdale. Book your hire care from the next morning to save a few pounds too. Edited at 06:37 PM. |
