We flew Virgin Economy on the way out this year. A word of warning for the extra legroom seats - I booked row 43 and had the three extra legroom at the side and then 2 in the middle. The seats there are so staggered that my children in the middle seemed like they were in the row in front. I wasn't able to lean across and talk to them. Luckily they were pretty chilled as they were together and plugged into the IFE for most of the flight but it would be a bit lonely if you were on your own expecting to chat across the aisle!
I ended up switching with one of the boys for mealtimes so I sat in both. I'm 5'10" and in the normal economy seats my knees were just touching the seat in front, not uncomfy but the extra legroom did make a huge difference to me.

Oh and before we flew Virgin customer services were rubbish - I was quite worried tbh. But on the flight all the cabin crew without exception were absolutely lovely. My kids have (severe) food intolerances and some mild SEN and they couldn't have been more helpful.

We had the two rows of two when we flew from Manchester 3 years ago, DH is 6'1" and 15 stone and they were every bit as comfortable as the extra leg room seats we picked from Glasgow last year and we had the benefit of one adult and one child rather than 3+1

I dont know if it was just bad luck but the staff on board from Glasgow were head and shoulders above those of Manchester (who were quite rude on a few occaisions)

the back of the plane is nice and if you get the seats just after the row of 3s there a gap at the side of the seat handy to dump stuff

the down side is more turbulence board the plane first i think but i do know you are off last so back of the que at immigration

saying that i think last year we did the back seats and cleared immigration in 45min late oct time mid week flight

food drinks snacks booze etc etc is free on a virgin fight so is the IFE and you can pause it too

toilets are at the back but no smell from them
just have people waking past you
