Andy, if you've got enough Virgin Miles, you can now use them with Delta and their "taxes & charges" tend to be lower than Virgin's for the trip to New York and availability is good. We were recently looking and to go both ways with Delta had a fee of £136 per person in economy. Virgin's was twice that.

I've done both, but all legs were in UC rather than economy which was a huge help. Both are easily doable but I'd lean towards NYC as you can get an earlier flight out, a later flight back and with generally shorter flight times you end up with about an extra 10 hours of playtime.

Why not just go to Disneyland Paris instead? A few days is ideal there.

I would do it! But I have no problems with flying long distances and no major issues with jet lag.
(I did a 4 night trip earlier this year to somewhere that was 6 time zones and a 12 hour flight away!)

I’d do it, I’ve done Vegas for 2 nights and Washington for 1 night. Longer is always preferable but short trips are appreciated too!

Sense has prevailed, and we're doing NYC.
I'd love to get back to Florida so quickly, but we're leaving the kids at home this time, and are also hoping for a week in Florida in October, so New York for just the two of us will be great. I'll certainly have a look into our air miles though! |
