I told the insurance company everything, and paid an extra �120 to cover him. I informed the airline too. We informed the consultant we had a holiday booked, and got a split put in his cast for the flight. There is no way I would ever consider traveling to America without being fully covered!

My comment was purely that it isn't always possible to obtain a 'fit to fly' letter nowadays.
