Pack lunch ideas

We won't be able to afford to eat at the parks every day. Do you suggest any good packed lunch ideas, and how to store them for a day at the parks?

No dietary requirements apart form me (plant based) but I can sort myself just looking for ideas for everyone else and they but all eat just about anything.

Should have said 4 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 11 (although Disney would class the 11 year old as an adult! )

Thanks

We mostly did sandwiches / wraps they kept fine in a cool bag, took crisps and fruit as well. One day we took packs of lunchables the kids liked those.

Grab bags of crips and lunchables (normally 10 for $10).
Cereal bars are good too for a snack.

I do like to get a popcorn bucket as it's cheap refills. Also as it's salty, it makes you thirsty and will encourage the kids to drink more.

How about a cool bag rucksack? Our's was very helpful when we picnicked most days one August. Couple of frozen water bottles to chill the wraps/sandwiches. Add usual, apples, crisps, cookies, trail bars etc. Some days we got Subway on the way in, other days we got fresh break/bakery items from the local supermarket. Crisps are good for keeping salt levels up if you're traveling when it's hot and will be drinking lots of water. Little bottles of squeezy squash make the free iced water more appealing to little ones.

Wraps worked well. I made them night before and froze them. Ham and cheese. Then put them in small cool bag instead of an ice pack, by lunchtime they were defrosted. Don’t take up much room and didn’t go soggy.

I'd never thought about Subway type sandwiches before!
Might pop into Publix this time and bring some of their gorgeous subs with me for the day! :P

we goto publix/7eleven & buy wraps / subs, massive bags of crisps and decant into smaller bags

pack in a collapsable cool bag with frozen water bottles, in a rucksack jobs a good un

personally find buying all the stuff to make wraps/subs was more expensive than just buying ready made ones.. and lets face it less hassle..

Great value meals to share in Disney, Peco Bills tacos, Flame Tree chicken and ribs and ABC Commisary Rib meal. Always get cups of water from quick service restaurants. Lunchables and other snacks, plus your sandwiches sound great for lunch. To keep costs down we would always buy a combo meal ie fish and chicken in Harbour House plus a side of fries and split the main meal between us.

Thanks so much to everyone for your responses! Lots of ideas here.

I didn't know you could buy cool bag rucksacks!

I only found out about the free iced water this year following threads on this site and the little squash bottles are a great idea for that.

I didn't think about lunchables, the kids will love them.

Never thought of combo meals either, that's a great idea so I will have a look at the different parks and menus etc.

Thanks again everyone
