This has so much scope. A quick service meal in the Cantina at Mos Eisley?( Be cautious) Death Star, pod racers, snowspeeder type rollercoasters, cloud city signature dining. It's endless. I'm getting way ahead of myself!

Been a fan of both SW and WDW since before I could properly walk and talk at the same time.
And now, it's all coming together (the geekiness, that is, not the walking and talking bit).
Glad I have decided to save for a few years before going back to WDW. Looks like I could time it with SWEp7 release in 2015!
I think my head is going to explode. I need to lie down. Good night!
Am I married to you? Because you sound exactly like my husband, born the same year too!

I thought those last three prequel abominations were bad enough - that's Star Wars ruined then.

The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire Lucasfilm Ltd. in a stock and cash transaction. Lucasfilm is 100% owned by Lucasfilm Chairman and Founder, George Lucas.

Oh and Disney to make Star Wars episode 7 for release in 2015, with new films every two to three years thereafter.

Two camps here.

1. Disney are going to ruin everything and push starwars in your face. Ruin the next films ect.

2. Lucas more or less ruined it on his own (inc indy) Disney did a dam good job with marvel so why not starwars.

Disney are not stupid, they know the single biggest draw they could get would be starwars. If they build a Starwars land they will knock harry potter into the next solar system. The amount of non disney going people that would vist would be huge. Added to a set of movies?

With the upcoming marvel movies disney are in the $$$$$$$$$

My boys are huge star wars fans.

We all enjoyed watching 'A New Hope' at thge weekend we are waiting for 'Empire Strikes Back' this weekend. It will be their first visit to WDW next summer but I know it wouldn't the trip of a lifetime we'll be going back at some point. Watching this story with interest.

I for one would love to explore the treehouses of Endor with the Ewoks.

I think Disney acquiring LucasFilm can only be a good thing. As already mentioned, if they expand in the parks then they will draw new people into the parks. This in turn will mean continued investment in the parks with new visitors spending their cash. I'm excited to see where they go with it. I think Disney will do just fine with the Star Wars franchise... Maybe we can also pretend that Indy 4 didn't have aliens in it?
