Highlander Day12 Grand Canyon/Penn and Teller

Monday 27th October
I was up around 6 this morning and did my usual by heading to Hooters and having a few hours of me time , when I returned to the room DW was up but Danny was still in bed, we got breakfast and told Danny his surprise as he never knew we where flying to the Grand Canyon today , he was pretty chuffed with this treat and was impressed enough to get out of his pit, we are getting picked up at 11:30 so we finish packing for the next day then head to reception for our pick up, DW and Danny are waiting for a coach so when the limo turns in they just ignore it, but it is for us as its a limo pick up you get with this tour although you do share it but its still nice to see their faces, we get checked in and weighed for our trip, this is when I discover I have left my memory card in my computer and I never brought my camera bag with my other cards, I check out their store but its only got disposable cameras for sale and no memory cards, so I change the setting on my camera to low for the internal memory to handle our pictures only good for internet but better than nothing and this year my camera fiasco is all my own fault much to Jacquies relief. The flight to the Canyon takes about 40 mins and is pretty good the other passengers are a young couple from London but working in San Francisco, and wait for it a young girl from Orlando (By the way young for me is early twenties)
Some pics

Landing in the Canyon is amazing you just feel so small in such a great setting we only have 45 mins in the canyon but it is great we chat to our other travelers and as we arrived in a small helicopter convoy their are about 30 of us here and one gent proposes to his girlfriend here and she accepts, our picnic lunch, is sandwiches, fruit, cookies, juice and champagne, on the journey back Danny gets to ride up front with the pilot, our pilot is pretty good and very informative on the sights we see as we pass over

Once back on ground I tip the pilot as you do, then we buy the DVD and picture for $75 the DVD did arrive within 2 weeks and is pretty good, we get dropped off back at the hotel and DW heads to the pool, DS hits the gym and I do a few casinos with out much luck, I also buy wraps from Walgreens for our breakfast on the plane tomorrow morning and some other snacks as Deltas selection isn't great, I then join DW by the pool for an hour, we enjoy a few free glasses of wine from the reception in the evening before heading back to Ellis Island for a steak dinner, we all had the steak special, plus I had an amber ale and the chicken soup which was thick and creamy, total bill $30 incl tip, and I have to say this meal is pretty tasty and price wise pretty amazing

After dinner and a gamble we get a taxi to the Rio for the Penn and Teller show our seats are in the 2nd row so we have a great view and the show was great very funny we all thought, and it turns out their was a dibber their as well as the sent me a pm to say they just missed us as we ducked out the side way at the end of the show
(sorry I forgot their username) so just goes to show a small world and a pity as it;d have been fun to meet a dibber in Vegas, we took the
photo op with the stars at the end as well which was good

We got a taxi back to the hotel and we where all in bed by midnight my alarm was set for 4am as it was 4:45 pick up for our return flight

A great day and the photos look great Steve. Camera problems coming back to bite you and no one to blame A great surprise for Danny and he looks to be enjoying it all! I'm sure we'll get round to Vegas when the girl is a bit bigger.

Pam.

Sounds like a great day Steve

What sort of show is Penn and Teller? Comedy? Magic?
