Mobile Should a school only have 5 inset days?

Just wondered how many inset days a school should have? Is it only 5 as just realised my daughter's school appear to be having 7. I know they added a few extra when it failed its Ofsted a few years ago and got taken over but the 2 extra days appear to have remained for this year and next. It's now an academy so not sure if that makes a difference?

Our (then state) school had extra a few years ago when building works were clearly going to run over. Everyone else went back first Tues in sept and they went back the Mon after that year.

Generally a school should service 380 sessions which is 190 days and teachers should expect to work 195 days ( 5 inset).
Academies can set their own levels.

My daughters school currently have 5 however I’ve received an email today informing that they will be adding an additional which will be taken in October. This email was from the board of governors who have agreed the additional day after receiving a proposal from the head.
