Hiring a car from Munich airport

I was just wondering if anyone has done this and if they have any tips, or any particular companies to use/avoid?

Any experiences welcome - thanks!

Never hired a car but public transport is great around Munich.

We travelled all around Munich, to Neuschwanstein Castle and Salzburg on public transport ( metro and trains ) really easy, cheap and reliable.

Would also recommend the beer garden in the English Garden. Spent two great afternoons there drinking beer and listening to the band.

Thanks for the reply. We're not actually visiting Munich itself though as we're driving down to Austria for a week so will definitely need a car.

Did this in November and it was straightforward, very well organised - think we use Europcar but there's several of the main players there and cars are generally lovely (near heart of German car industry)
