Best pre-paid Travel cards

Hello everyone,

What is everyone's favorite prepaid travel card? Last time we used WESWAP and got $35 dollars for free when we loaded $500 dollars onto it through, moneysupermarket.com, We wont get the same offer this time as we have already used it, does anyone know any other companies that offer incentives based on this? Also it has to have an app we can access to track our balance, Thankyou

Revolut for me, best possible exchange rate, no charges for purchases, has an app to check your balance. Very popular on here. Used in in US, Canada and various European destinations.

I use Revolut, but have also created an account and ordered Starling card as it does not impose limit on the monthly amount withdrawn from cash machines.

Interbank rate currency exchange and no card charges for cash withdrawals upto £300 /day (Starling), £200/month(Revolut) (although some machines charge local fee).

The Starling is an account that pays interest, 0.5% upto £2000 and is a debit card, therefore does not have section 75 protection. Revolut is also debit card.
Revolut does allow you to buy other currency at day rate, and store in account (noting small charge at weekends). May be good if exchange rates fluctuating.

Personally I like how quick any use is notified and the ability to temporary lock the card fetaures.

Unfortunately not aware of any other incentives/freebies

Any suggestions for cards that allow you to load them with dollars?
I last used a FairFx card that didn't always work, which was frustrating having money there but not being able to spend it. I liked the ability to keep the balance on one card that we never took out, only loading the daily budget in the morning onto our separate card. If it wasn't for it constantly saying my pin was wrong I would be happy taking it next year.

The Revolut allows you to load in £ and exchange to dollars whenever you want that days rate, thereby keeping dollars and £ in account. Personally I just load the £ and use the card wherever and it uses the interbank bank exchange rate at time of transaction.
The starling is similar, but you cannot transfer £ into dollars except at transaction or cash withdrawal, as far as I am aware.

I like the increased security, of near instant notification of any transactions and being able to switch contactless/swipe on/off, I’m presuming the Starling will allow this also

I was 100% a Monzo person until they started charging a 3% fee for ATM withdrawals in the US (you are allowed £200 free in a 30 day period, but that hardly pays for anything) therefore I’m looking at Starling. I guess the question is, are you likely to just use the card for chip and pin purchases or are you wanting lots of cash out?

If cash out then probably Starling.

I prefer Revolut as you can exchange your money when the dollar rate is good, or at least better. From what I can see, with the others, you get the rate on the day you use the card, is that right?
