gin is basically base grain spirit (vodka essentially) infused with botanicals etc
so you could in theory use some good quality vodka and add some rhubarb, leave in a dark room for @24 hours , filter out the bits and jobs a good un? to distill your own gin/spirit is illegal without a license but you would only be infusing |

My sister makes the best sloe / rubarb gin ever
Base a good quality gin a big sealable jar she uses mason jars Put clean dry fruit with no decay in the jar top up with gin Leave at least 48 hours in a cool dark place then taste can be left a further 24 hours but then strain and decant back into clean sterilised jars or bottles She also makes a great lemon cello Some methid can be used for vodka Pomegranate works well too but only leave 24 /36 Hours And the rubarb makes great adult rubarb fool desert Honest we are not lushes just brought up to use what was grown at home Edited at 01:30 AM. |
