Universal RPR non hotel guest

Hi. Could we use the water taxi from RPR to the parks on a day we have no room booking.

We plan to have the morning at VB then buss to RPR for a nose about and lunch before heading to the parks mid afternoon and evening.

Would this be ok ?

Can we also eat at the Bala Grille area (nachos) as non hotel guests ?

I don't believe you have to show a room key or anything so I don't see why not. I think they are just freely used by everyone visiting the resort not necessarily for hotel guests. I may be wrong but don't remember showing room key or anything when we used them during our RPR stay.

Not sure about using the pool bar though sorry, cannot remember if the gates need room key access.

We have at night booked at RPR later in our trip so really just fancy having a look about and getting the kids into it as the one night stay will be a suprise.

I dont mind if we have to wait for the nachos till we stay there but they look so good haha

I’m sure we had to use our key card to enter the pool last year, however I don’t remember using it elsewhere so I think you’ll be ok getting the water taxi.

Pretty sure we had to use our key card for the pool too but not for the taxi or looking about the hotel

We've just come back from a stay at RPR, we were never asked for a room key to use the water taxi.
Also you don't need a room key to enter the pool area so I can't see why you can't go for the nachos . We had them between the four of us on Sunday, kept is all full for most of the day, huge portion and delicious.

Unless it's changed since our last visit September 2016, there was no requirement (or even facility) to use room card to access Bula Grille/pool area.

It's always been fenced off but just a normal (if fiddly) gate latch. We've pool hopped before at Universal (it's allowed as opposed to WDW) and couldn't get in the pool area at HRH from the pathway. In this case there was a gate with an electronic lock and the RPR key didn't work. Just had to walk to the main entrance and through there to the pool.

I remember talking to one of the front desk years ago and he mentioned they like non guests to come and have a look around and use the restaurants. After all, they want their custom.

+1 - really good value and tasty. Easily a meal for 2 and indeed can stretch to a snack for 4.
