We are planning to go back 2022 also for a like numbered birthday so that would make it even more special if they are still celebrating 50 years.

The main celebrations will probably be limited to October 2021.

However, there will probably be evidence of the anniversary - including overpriced merchandise you can buy - until the end of 2022.

We visited in December 1997 and Cinderella Castle was still decorated as a pink cake and there were still 25th anniversary signs around the parks. However, there were no celebrations or special shows, as such.

I feel old, as my first Disney trip coincided with the 15th. I can still remember the afternoon parade music. “15 years... we’re having a party! 15 years...party time tonight!” 🤪

Is September a good time to visit? I have been told it rains a lot, hurricanes etc? Love bugs? Anything else? Am hopeful they would be building up the anticipation for the anniversary while I celebrate my 50th (mid September)

I was there 13th to 26th September last year and there were 2 hours of rain one afternoon and that was it. I don't know what love bugs are. I'm going 16th to 26th September this year. I fly out 9 weeks today 😀

We are planning August 2021 so maybe it will be quieter if the celebration don’t start until October.

September is our preferred time!

We would love to go for the anniversary but I think the crowds will be a nightmare. So it will be more 2022 for us I think!

Am I right in thinking that free dining is not available end of September into October for 2020?
If that’s the case it I would presume not be available for 2021 if free dining is offered especially if the 50th celebrations start on the 1st October

We are looking at going back July 2021 or 2022. I’d love to see the 50th stuff so will probably be 2022 as I imagine that the celebrations won’t have started for us the year before.
