It makes me cringe.
It reminds me of the late lamented I Live here Orlando's pithy comment when on this subject "Just give us the bl**dy money"

only one housekeeper will get tipped then as it won't be same person each day and they don't share tips.

None of us (3 rooms) were offered opting out. We didn't really think about it until a few days in when one of our daughters mentioned that they'd happened to call at a time when she and her kids were in the room every day - I wonder if they do that on purpose?

We were only onsite for a week anyway, so not a big deal.

It’s not offered at deluxe resorts and if you’re staying at a moderate or value and it’s not offered at check in you can ask to opt out.

We tip $5 a day. I am heavily influenced by having cleaned hotel rooms as a Uni student and experiencing the truly filthy disgusting way a lot of people leave them. Always shocked people who can pay hundreds a night for a room can’t pick their dirty pants and much worse off the floor and seemingly forget how to flush a dirty loo. Worst job ever. That said if I get poor service I stop tipping. That’s happened on one trip only at WDW. We are very tidy in the room and I will put the do not disturb sign up a few times per trip to save the tip for that day.

I am sure there is no way you can tip other than cash.

We don’t tip. Considering how much it costs to stay at Disney already it does mount up quickly! Currently at YC and had a few issues with housekeeping, we have had to complain to front desk. Since doing this we haven’t had any issues though 🙂

Soon to be paid $15 ph. My dues went up nearly 10% and similar expected this year. Housekeeping a big constituent of that.
We leave it tidy. If we left it a mess or got special treatment then I may consider it, but generally no tip from me. $15 an hour is a very good wage for a housekeeper. And they voted for it to be a none tipped position on more money.

Don’t tip. I consider the room being serviced part of the rate I have already paid. I had honestly never heard of the concept of tipping house keeping before I found this website and I am no spring chicken.
