West facing villa - sun around pool?
Looking at a villa that is west facing. How much sun will it get and when?

On the basis that the sun sets in the west you should have sun from around mid-day until it sets. Unless of course there are other villas behind you that block the actual sunset.
It will also depend on the time of year. In June when the sun is almost overhead it will be a slightly different position to December when the sun's a bit lower in the sky Mick

Looking at your countdown, it should be fine. We had a west facing villa before in the summer and it was fine, it wouldnt stop me booking if everything else about the villa was good.

I never heard of or thought of the direction of the pool until I had already booked our villa, it was north facing, oh dear I thought, turned out lovely, we had the sun on the pool all day, maybe a slight shadow later on that touched the edge of the pool but didn't make any difference at all, so I guess it doesn't always matter

Ours is west facing too, the sun starts hitting the top of the deck around 10.30 and is in full sun by lunchtime till sunset, we are higher than the villa behind us so nothing blocks the sun out. Pussycat

A lot depends on the size of the pool deck as well. I love west facing for the amazing sunsets.

You should be OK in July ..the sun is high in the sky
If the villa is 2 storey you may lose al little in the earler morning...but most people swim after the parks or shopping...so you should be fine ...

My pool is west facing and it gets the sun for most of the day.
