Lake Apopka Wildlife Trail

Hi - has anyone done this recently?

Spotted it online and looks like a great way to spend a few hours away from the parks, chance to see some of the local wildlife in natural habitats.

I appreciate facilities are sparse - it's the 'wild' so to be expected... but any tips much appreciated!

We'll take plenty to drink with us and food - but are there any toilets on the route (I note they say allow 2 hours to complete the drive)

We done it back in May & really enjoyed it. Loads of different birds & more 'gators than I could count. We saw the odd snake too. It was something different & I'd definitely do it again.

They had portaloos up by the pump house, but neither of us used them so I can't comment on what they were like.

We did it a couple of weeks ago. Enjoyed it.
Weather wasn't great but it was certainly interesting.
Various portaloos dotted around the place.

We stopped by Porkies BBQ in Apopka & it was fab for lunch...

Favourite place this year was Blue Springs. Incredible...

We have done it a couple of times and I was looking forward to showing it to my grandson but he was not impressed he got bored. We saw all sorts of birds and loads of gators. We will go again in November as it us an adult only trip. It can be a bit bumpy and you have to dodge lots of pot holes. You also come out a lot further north so the journey home is longer.
