Weve not had ours do that, but we have switched our small oil filled rad on that only comes on when we have any spare solar. It's not enough to feel warm, just free background heat. Its tucked under the stairs so it heats step 3 aka the naughty step!

That's got to be beneficial to BB. I understand he spends a lot of time there.

In our NE microclimate village our heating has been on/off all 'summer' (summer, my Jim Royale), whilst the south was melting in heat waves, up here, well, we weren't, we've had a lot of rain. Up for a piddle early hours and the heating, set to 18.4 was on! Last 'love it' day we had was 3 weeks yesterday - that joke about having our two day summer isn't so much of a joke up here this year. The jet stream basically hasn't moved away from us. Duvet is the one we have on year round, as are the cotton fleece PJ's.

I tested the thermostat earlier. It may have clicked on if I'd got it switched on. My DS in shorts and tshirt switched the conservatory (dining table) heater on. He was very firmly told 'put a jumper on or I'll start charging you! '
