Mobile UK travel/holidays not advised - is this right?

Just wanted to check that people are also not going on UK holidays now? I assume so, while we get through this tricky time.

My parents were due to be going on a weekend coach trip to the Cotswolds at the end of the month.

They’ve been advised today that it’s been cancelled. They haven’t had a refund just a voucher to rebook at a later date whenever that may be.

I wonder where insurance sits on UK holidays. I cant see anything in my policy as regards inclusion or exclusion. I have accommodation and a Belfast/Liverpool ferry crossing booked.

If anybody is thinking of going on a UK break, please be mindful of the effect on local health services if you are unwell while there. The population of some tourist hotspots increases massively during high season and if local services are already overwhelmed an influx of people will only make things worse

Our cruise has been cancelled so we were going to go to the Isle of Wight but that looks like a no go now.

Re travel insurance ours covers uk breaks of 2 days or more with prebooked accommodation.

We had a trip to DLP which we managed but only had 1 day before it closed, our Venice trip which we should have gone on tomorrow was obviously cancelled so we decided on a trip to Lumley Castle in Chester Le Street which after yesterday’s announcement has also been cancelled 😢😢😢.

Luckily we live on the Isle of Wight going out for walks is not banned (well not yet ) so it’s a staycation for us.
