About 7 I think. I was allowed to play out on the streets and go to the corner shop, I also was walking home from school by myself at that age, well with other children in my class.

I remember when we moved I walked to school on my own at 9ish, but think before then was allowed to go to a friends house but that didn't cross a main road. I remember Mum seeing me across the road to school in the mornings and think she took my brother in and I went ahead (infant for him and juniors for me)

I remember walking home by myself(with friends) in the infants! That was in the 70’s.

I was allowed to play out in the street when was around 8. I started to go out of the street and into town with friends when I was in the last year of primary school (11) and then when I started high school I walked to and from school on my own (almost 12). This was the 00’s.

Walked to school with mum and brother aged 5. I walked to school with my older brother at 8. Walked home on my own from Junior school aged 9, I think.

About 5 walking to school, it was only round the corner and you didnt have to cross any main roads.

I remember my Mother saying she took me for 1 week when I started Infants aged 5.

However on week 2 I felt school was pants so on the morning break I walked back home!

That meant I wasn't trusted anymore so got taken and picked up for the next year.

However I continued my thought process about school being pants and at aged 15 I was told not to bother attending any more. Job done.
